About Us


UNYQ Management was founded in 2014  by its Chief Executive Officer, Anand Patel. The concept of providing an UNYQ approach to hotel management was something Anand started conceptualizing many years before seeing his dream become a reality. UNYQ has grown exponentially, as has its ability to handle larger and more complex property needs.


With humble roots extending long before its founding, the family hotel business began in 1978 in small town Pulaski, Tennessee. Since those early days they have completed over 20 acquisition/new-build projects throughout the Tennessee hospitality market. The family has also participated in and consulted with countless other owners along the way.

After achieving success with their own endeavors, the family felt the need to give back to the area industry by assisting other owners in developing and creating their own success. UNYQ Management started with just one contracted property. Being a small start-up, the management company located their office in a permanently out-of-order room at a property undergoing rebranding. The organization has since grown to manage multiple properties in the Tennessee, Kentucky, and Texas area hospitality markets. Having finally grown from its humble beginnings they located a corporate office in Nashville, Tennessee in 2016.

UNYQ strives to achieve rigorous yet attainable goals that help each managed asset achieve their fullest potential.


When AP conceptualized his dream of owning and operating a management company, he set out to bring in the best and brightest to accompany and compliment his talents and abilities. Having formed an experienced and qualified team with over 75 years of combined experience, AP now leads the way in helping other hoteliers achieve their UNYQ dreams.

Anand Patel - Chief Executive Officer

After completing his degree at the Collins School of Hospitality AP, as he is known by most, decided to utilize his 20(+) years of industry experience to offer hoteliers an affordable way to step back from the day to day headaches and trials that come with running a successful operation. With a simple goal of increasing revenue and controlling costs, AP’s UNYQ approach to management allows owners to maintain and increase their profitability while reducing their involvement, and in turn, their time commitment to their assets.

Justin Whited – Chief Operations Officer

Beginning his career in hospitality in 2000, Justin served in multiple management roles in food and beverage. After joining the US Army Infantry and completing a deployment to Iraq he returned home and re-entered the workforce utilizing his prior hospitality experience. He has since expanded his educational background to include a degree in business management, with additional educational experience in communications, hospitality management, human resources, and organizational leadership and development. Justin joined UNYQ Management in 2014 developing the operational infrastructure necessary to expand the portfolio.

Angel Newsom – Regional Services Manager

Angel began her career with UNYQ Management as a guest services agent. Her work ethic, property dedication and continued achievements were identified by UNYQ as critical components to realizing individual property success. Angel’s skills led to her promotion to General Manager of a UNYQ property in 2016. Her market-leading success on her property demonstrated a need for UNYQ to bring her on board as a Regional Services Manager. She provides operational support to the property General Manager’s through strategic planning, revenue management, asset and risk-management, and brand compliance.

Bryan Lambert – Executive Administrator

Bryan earned a Bachelor of Science from Middle Tennessee State University in 2010. He joined the UNYQ team in 2015 and brings over 7 years of administrative and hospitality experience to the team. He is responsible for overseeing the daily administrative functions of the management company by assisting with accounting, human resources management, and payroll processing. Bryan coordinates among the UNYQ team insuring administrative accuracy, operational organization, and clerical efficiency.

Dhansukj Patel

Dhanji "Dan" Patel President and CEO

Dhanji “Dan” was born in Gujurat, India. He immigrated to the United Kingdom with his family in 1965.

He completed high school in 1972. In 1976, he graduated from business school with a two-year degree and worked for Rymans Electronic Company until by marriage he immigrated to the US in 1978. Dhansukh worked for Trend electronics in San Francisco, California. After 8 months in electronics field, he purchased his first Motel in Pulaski, Tennessee. Today he and his family they co-own and operate several hotels.

Dhansukh was a founding member of the Gujarat Cultural Association of Nashville, Dhansukh was an active member of the IAHA before it emerged with AAHOA.

Elected in 1996 to the position of Director at Large, he served four terms on the Executive Committee.

He became the Chairman of AAHOA in 2001. Dhansukh is very committed to strengthening youth membership and educating youth hoteliers in preparation for their future in hospitality. In his role as chairman, Dhansukh campaigned for independent hotel owners to become involved with AAHOA, and take advantage of the associations educational, political and networking opportunities.

In 2002 he was elected as the Vice President of LPS. He took to the helm in 2004 and made it of the most strongest and vibrant cultural associations. He revamped the communication barriers by re doing their magazine. New colorful and bilingual issues have started. He has given Leuva’s a sense of belonging with his multi city town hall meetings. Life time membership is at an all time high he surpassed his own goal of 500.

He continues to grow his business with his family and is very passionate about development and redevelopment.

Sunil Patel


Sunil was born in Walsall, England. His family migrated to the United States in the early eighties.  They purchased their first 35 room motel in Pulaski TN.  Sunil finished high school there, and earned a BS degree in Accounting from Middle Tennessee State University. Through high school and college he helped in the family business learning the basics of the hospitality business. Grooming himself for what would lie in his future.

While attending college he helped his brother develop their second motel in Columbia TN. After finishing his college he and his brother developed and acquired several branded hotels. Today they enjoy a diversified portfolio of branded hotels which they manage themselves. Sunil also started consulting individual and companies on hotel acquisitions and development.

Sunil is very active in community service. He has served as the President of the Gujarat Cultural Association in Nashville TN and as President of Leuva Patidar Samaj of USA. He also served on the AAHOA Board as Director At Large and numerous AAHOA committees. He is involved in every hospitality organization local and national. He loves to play soccer and is an avid marathon runner. He resides in Brentwood TN with his wife Manisha, two daughters Reshma and Prishana.
